Optical 3D Digitizer
The three dimensional registration of the geometrical data of complete bodies is the basis for the automation and computation of the technical steps. For this complex demand, digitizer systems were developed in co-operation with the Fraunhofer Institute, Jena.
The measuring system is based on the principle of human stereoscopic vision: both eyes view an object at a specific distance from the same angle and the brain processes the information from the eyes into a three-dimensional picture.Another basic principle of the system is linear projection: if straight lines (slide projector with a slide of parallel lines) are projected onto an object, for example: a ball, the lines will be curved around the ball. This distortion of the lines allows conclusions to be drawn about the surface contour.
The goal of this development was a system for the exact measurement of single teeth and complete arches.
Our optical digitizers enable very precise measurements. At the same time, they are fast and fully automatic. This easy operation lends itself to industrial automation, easily used even by non-technical staff.| hiScan | HiScanµ | |
